By Julee Klein, Marketing Consultant & President A Look at JKM's Digital Marketing Highlights in 2019JKM opened its virtual doors in January of 2018. Now that our second year in operation is coming to a close, we’re reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished this year for our small business clients and our digital marketing agency. Here’s a look at our highlights in 2019: Our First TradeshowIn April, we jumped into event marketing and promotions with a booth and giveaways at the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. A big shout out to ChaseVP for the amazing custom tablecloth and our EOS lip balm giveaways and Make It Mine Embroidery & Engraving for our custom polo shirts. We're also grateful to graphic designer Sherry Jennings, marketing coordinator Sean Truesdell, and marketing intern Max Klein for helping with event prep and hosting the JKM booth. It was a long, high-energy day of meeting other small businesses in the South Silicon Valley area. Our First Marketing Industry AwardAlso in April, we learned that we were nominated for a Corporate Vision Magazine Content Creator Award and earned the distinction of "Leading Mind in SME Marketing Strategy - Northern California"! It came as a huge shock and surprise. We still don’t know who nominated us, but what a big boost of confidence for a new digital marketing agency! We’d like to think it’s because of this JKM blog post about Getting Started with Content Marketing which was our first. It’s been the most widely shared infographic we’ve created so far. We keep trying to top it! We Published Our First Kindle Book for Our ClientThe team at JKM spent over nine months birthing this baby titled, TEAMICITY: Better Productivity Through Optimized Communication…The Anatomy of Highly Effective Team Interactions by Robert Lauridsen Ph.D., Carl Reinhardt CEO, and Fran Lauridsen Ph.D. These talented executive coaches and published authors needed a hand with editing, design, and execution of their latest project on the Kindle Direct Platform. Graphic designer Sherry Jennings created the cover art and a set of infographics for Teamicity, and Sharon E. Cathcart, copywriter, published author, and editing expert, ensured our client's final product was as well written as it was well-formatted. Now that Teamicity is available on the Kindle platform, business team members and team leaders alike will benefit from the insights provided by our clients at the Lauridsen Reinhardt Group. The team at JKM also created the other valuable marketing collateral assets for their website. We Helped a Client Achieve Their SEO GoalsA little keyword research, competitive research, and content marketing can go along way. We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with the team at Excel Trust Deed Investments to define their focus keywords and help them rank on page one. While we can’t guarantee the number one organic position on a search engine results page (SERP), we did achieve that distinction for ExcelTDI. Their willingness to collaborate and allow us to implement content changes on their site really paid off. But SEO is never a one-and-done project and we continue to monitor and optimize keywords and content. We Launched Four Fabulous WebsitesGood City Co.Formerly Neal Martin & Associates, this local government staffing and city planning firm came to us with an outdated website and business name. They were ready for a new identity and fully responsive website. While we can’t take credit for their creative new name or fun logo design, we are proud to have helped Good City Co. bring their new brand and vision for their website to life and implement a responsive new website that can grow with their business needs. Craft Roots Bar & Veggie GrillIn the Fall of 2019, Craft Roots Bar & Veggie Grill launched their innovative 100% plant-based restaurant in Morgan Hill, CA and we were thrilled to work with them on their brand new website and email marketing. We implemented a pop-up sign-up form for their e-newsletter and in the first few months of their soft open, they received over 600 sign-ups. We continue to assist the Craft Roots team with content marketing and website updates like adding events, and new blog posts, and email promotions. Orion Pest ControlLike Good City Co., the folks at Orion Pest Control were ready for a new, up-to-date responsive web presence and most importantly, one that they could manage themselves. So we got to work reimagining and reorganizing their existing content, implementing a mechanism for lead capture, and moving their website to a content management platform that they could easily use to update and edit the content on their site themselves. We also ensured that their site was set up with best SEO practices in mind. Air for Paws, Inc.In September, the founder of the non-profit Air For Paws reached out to JKM with a request to get a new website up and running in time for their major fundraising event on October 26, 2019. Insert group panic attack. No, actually we were able to pull it off and include a sponsor and donor sign up form well ahead of the event. We also ended up helping with social media promotions for the event as well. It’s true what they say, “nothing motivates like a deadline.” And nothing motivates us more than a good cause that includes helping first responders save dogs, cats, and other animal friends. #marketingforgood In 2019, We Doubled Our Client Roster of Small BusinessesWhen we launched JKM, we started out in January 2018 with one really amazing client and quickly added another. By the end of 2018, we were thrilled to have a total of six wonderful small business owners to work with on everything from logo and web design to social media and email marketing. But in 2019, the growth was amazing. As of today, we’re excited to work with 12 small business owners in a number of industries. Some B2B, most B2C. But all of our clients are exceptional marketers themselves and really just need a hand getting their digital marketing ideas and objectives implemented. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to help!
